I am devastated by the loss of life in Texas, but I do hope this reinforces the acute need for NOAA and AWS funding, especially in the face of climate change.

In what feels like some sort of Christmas miracle, the orthopedic surgeon feels like Cooper just had a very bad ankle sprain. No evidence of ligament or tendon tears and no indication of bone deformities, infection or autoimmune issues. He’s starting to put weight on it again!

We’re still waiting on answers on Coop’s leg injury, but surgery may not be required. We’re taking it nice and easy and just enjoying the holidays together. Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah!

Unfortunately Cooper seems to have ruptured the CCL in his knee. Surgical consult on Monday. Doing our best to keep the patient comfortable and calm until then.

Finally heard from our family in Asheville. Cell service is still down. The downtown public library and courthouse have WiFi.
