Ich muss da mal was loswerden. Vor der Pandemie, also gefühlt vor einer Ewigkeit, hielt ich mich mal für zumindest einigermaßen intelligent. Nicht überragend, aber immerhin hatte ich Schule, Studium und Facharzt ohne Probleme geschafft, und die Dissertation ist zumindest fertig,

Project Update: There is a small feature in german television presenting the "Tiny forest" project where I was able to provide some of my #energyharvesting @thethingsntwrk nodes for temp and soil moisture measurements. Feature starts at 22min:06s daserste.de/information/wiss… @saiboto_

Working on a project without #LoRaWAN (yet) I'm building traffic counting cameras right now for the telraam.net/en/what-is-telra… project. It uses #openCV on a raspi 3 to count cars, trucks, bicycles and pedestrians. Therefore I use fake CCTV cameras to make real ones out of it :-)

As far as I understood the setup, no privacy data is send, only the counts of the classified objects. Maybe it sparks interest with the local bicycle communities, as we really need more data on where distinct bicycle lanes are needed. And we can build some more across the city.

The current setup consists of:
Raspi 3 A (~25€), Raspi webcam 5 or 8MP (20-25€), fake CCTV housing (7€), USB power supply (5€), SDcard 5€, hot glue to seal the housing (100€ ;-) )
Let's see if it works. It needs some days running to calibrate.

seit Wochen sendet hier ein wild gewordenes #IoT-Gerät mehrmals die Minute Join-Requests mit der EUI: AA BB CC DD EE FF 11 22 und belegt unnötig die Frequenz.
Wer empfängt das Ding auch oder weiß, wo es her kommt?

Preparing for a new location of a LoRaWAN TTN Gateway Northwest of Stuttgart. Sure some new experience after a location on a castle top and a city tower. But the way up might be an adventure.😀And remote access capability is crucial😂

Story continues. Now we have the @mikrotik_com @thethingsntwrk gateway installed on the wind turbine. It technically functions but Internet uplink has still to be set up. Antenna could not go higher without getting in contact with the rotor. Line of sight is definitely "ok" 😉

Service Tweet: If you plan to buy a RAK7200 Tracker for an easy start to map your @thethingsntwrk gateway, plan also to exchange the internal antenna with an external one, except you want to simulate weak nodes. Finding a working position for the SMA socket is not easy though.

Service Tweet: Do you know that your @mikrotik_com LoRaWAN GW has a watchdog function that can check accessability of an IP address and otherwise restarts. Very helpful when uplink is unstable. Config here: system > watchdog. Would have saved me going up to the top of the tower😂

I made changes to the Arduino example sketch of the #energyharvester node to get it configured via downlink msgs. No Fear! It is easier as I ever thought. Can now adjust sleep time and temp sensor order from remote. Nice. And all with AVR 328P and OTAA.

Wanted to know the amnt of energy consumed by my @thethingsntwrk #energyharvesting node, waking up after 8s sleep and directly back to sleep again. Normally done to implement a longer sleep time before doing useful things again? My @QoitechWorld Otii says it is 2.36nWh per cycle.

A new installation of the #energyharvesting node in a "Tiny Forrest" project in Brandenburg. It measures multiple temperatures (soil, air) and relative soil moisture. The project tries to create a replicable set of local trees for fast reforestation. @thethingsntwrk #LoRaWAN

That's communities working together. Tobias from #TTN Eberswalde enhanced our @TTN_RegionSTG #energyharvesting node with a 3D printed support structure, to integrate it into a more ruggedized outdoor housing. 😍

Story continued: Tobias now made an additional 3D printed outdoor mast mount for the harvester and the solar cell. We will put the 3D Data files into the github of the #energyharvesting node shortly 😁
