Let it be known: female protagonists in gaming wouldn't be where they are today without Ellie Williams. She helped bring them into the mainstream and proved they could lead some of gaming's greatest stories. So whenever you see a peak female protagonist, be grateful for Ellie🐐

Female protagonists have been part of mainstream gaming since at least the 1980s. Samus Aran from Metroid (1986) and Lara Croft from Tomb Raider (1996) were influential long before Ellie in 2013.

we need to start setting a rule were you’re only allowed to tweet/talk about tomb raider if you’ve played and COMPLETED at least 3 *classic* games WITH EVIDENCE because it seems everyone and their mother wants to be an expert on this franchise without playing a single game
