🎙️If you've never listened and are wondering about #AboutIBDPodcast -- here's the trailer! In the #podcast biz we call this Episode 0. 😉 This trailer has been available on my podcast feed for several years, but I've only now made a video for it. Much more about my show and all episodes are also on my web site: aboutibd.com/podcast/ It was fun to put this together from a bunch of archive footage. It's like a tour of my hair color over the last 5 years. 💅🏻

I'm listening to a podcast. Because of course I am. And they are frowning on "listeners" becoming "guests." Here's the thing: I have listeners as guests all the time. It's the job of Host Amber to ensure they feel supported, safe, and heard. Editor Amber helps the published conversation make sense and have flow. Producer Amber makes sure guests sound as good as possible. That's what it is to host a podcast. Some podcasters may think of their shows as their personal sandbox. But first and foremost, podcasting should be about a two-way conversation. It should be about community.

Health insurance should pay the bills and stop calling me. I tried their telehealth once, and it resulted in a misdiagnosis and a trip to the pediatrician anyway. Why are we letting insurance companies be our pharmacies AND our providers too?

Women with IBD often experience the disease differently than men, yet many of these challenges remain underrecognized and understudied. Hormonal changes throughout life can impact disease activity, symptoms, fertility, pregnancy outcomes, menopause, and even bone health. Research also suggests women with #IBD may face delays in diagnosis, with symptoms sometimes dismissed as stress or anxiety. As research continues to uncover the complex relationship between hormones, inflammation, and IBD, specialized and individualized care for women is critical. Swipe through to learn more about how IBD uniquely affects women across different stages of life. #CrohnsDisease #UlcerativeColitis #WomensHealth #IBDawareness
