Two Palestinians, one of them a 14-year-old child, were shot and killed by Israeli settlers this morning in the Al-Mughayyir.
Israeli outposts surround the village on almost all sides, and its residents face violent raids on a daily basis. For nearly three years, the military has blocked most access routes to the village and prevented locals from accessing their privately owned farmland.
Settlers exploit these military restrictions to seize land and establish illegal, violent outposts. The only road the army has left open to the village is controlled by one outpost, and people using it are regularly attacked.
In October 2023, Israel distributed approximately 8,000 firearms to Israeli citizens living in the West Bank, including to civilians who were not on active reserve duty. Many of these weapons remain in settlers’ hands to this day, without adequate oversight.
