GABORONE โ BOTSWANA, 21 MAY 2026 (ACCOSCA) โ As Africa continues to prioritize inclusive economic growth and citizen-centered financial systems, ACCOSCA continues to provide leadership in championing cooperative transformation, financial wellness, and sustainable financial empowerment across the continent.
Through strategic partnerships, policy advocacy, leadership development, and institutional capacity building, ACCOSCA continues to work closely with governments, regulators, and cooperative stakeholders to strengthen National Associations across Africa as a pathway toward financial inclusion, economic resilience, and improved quality of life for African citizens.
The Speaker of the National Assembly of Botswana BWParliament, Hon. Dithapelo L. Keorapetse, together with the Clerk of the National Assembly, Dr. Gabriel Malebang, received ACCOSCA leadership led by Executive Director Mr. George Ombado and ACCOSCA Board Chairperson Madam Jeanette Makgolo, alongside leadership from Botswana Savings and Credit Cooperative Association led by CEO Mrs. Kefilwe Masalila and BOSCCA Chairperson Madam Karabo Morule-Tsegobye, at the Parliament of Botswana BWParliament for high-level discussions focused on strengthening cooperative systems and advancing financial wellness initiatives for the people of Botswana.
During the strategic engagement, Hon. Speaker applauded ACCOSCA for its continued efforts in reviving and strengthening national cooperative associations across Africa, including the ongoing institutional strengthening of BOSCCA.
He noted that a stronger Botswana Savings and Credit Cooperative Association translates into stronger SACCOs across Botswana, ultimately enhancing financial literacy, expanding access to affordable financial services, empowering communities, and strengthening the long-term sustainability of the cooperative movement in the country.
The engagement further reaffirmed ACCOSCA as a critical continental pillar in the growth, modernization, and sustainability of credit unions and SACCOs across Africa.
Through its expanding cooperative influence, ACCOSCA continues to play a transformative role in shaping resilient, inclusive, and people-centered financial systems that empower millions of Africans to achieve greater financial wellness, dignity, and economic freedom through cooperative finance.
