ACEM recognises the significance of
#WaitangiDay, today 6 February.
ACEM recognises our responsibility and accountability to move the articles of Te Tiriti into practice at every level of our organisation. ACEM is committed to our cultural safety, pro equity and anti-racism priorities which are expressed in the Manaaki Mana Rautaki and He Ara Tiatia ki te Taumata o Pae Ora/Pae Ora standards.
ACEM encourages its staff and members to live the values that underpin our Manaaki Mana Rautaki and to provide care with manaakitanga – respect and kindness, for all patients and whānau. Our values include providing care that upholds tino rangatiratanga (self-determination, authority) and tikanga (customs and values).
Te Tiriti must be protected and honoured.
Ehara taku toa i te toa takitahi
Engari he toa takitini.
Success is not the work of one,
It is the work of many.
Now is as important time as ever to learn more about Te Tiriti and the pathway it provides to better emergency care for Māori.
