Why Simulation Training Beats Lecture Alone
Research in CPR, trauma care, and first aid shows that skills learned through hands-on practice are retained longer and performed more accurately than those learned through lectures alone. For choking rescue, this difference is critical. Someone who has physically practiced the Heimlich maneuver—feeling the proper force and placement, and seeing the plug eject—encodes the skill far more effectively than someone who only watched a demonstration.
