June is National Gun Violence Awareness Month, and we need to do more to protect our communities from gun violence. I am proud to have introduced the Protecting Our Kids Act, one of the most significant gun reform packages ever passed by the House, to have passed the Bipartisan Background Checks Act through the House, and to have led the congressional debate on the most significant action in decades to address gun violence, the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act. But more must be done to make our communities safe. This crisis is urgent, and we must prioritize commonsense legislation to end the epidemic of gun violence.
