Woke up to an email telling me I’m entitled to a BetterHelp refund because my data was sold in a breach that occurred between 2017-2020. The refund is for $9.72.
How does this even pass as compensation? I paid a lot more than that for the single month I used the service.

All up, BetterHelp have to pay $7.8 million to 800,000 people, so people affected get $9.72 each.
I wonder how much they sold our data for?

So the Federal Trade Commission won a settlement against BetterHelp, which sold personal data (emails, IPs, health data) to companies including Facebook for advertising purposes.
Just got an email my data was sold, so I get a refund of... $9.72.
