Shocking and deeply disappointing!! #research #medicine #AcademicTwitter
The official journal of the Canadian Paediatric Society has just acknowledged that more than 100 of its case reports are fabricated. Incredible reporting from @RetractionWatch: retractionwatch.com/2026/03/…

Quite excited to find the first (?) recommendation to use EEG during TIVA with neuromuscular blockade - dating from 1951 from the pioneers of EEG Bickford and Faulconer in BJA. How strange this isn’t a standard of care 70 years later

A huge loss to our field! We lost an inspiring leader, a fierce patient advocate, educator par excellence, a role model physician. It was an honor working with @dr_g_williams on multiple initiatives, committees & panels. You will be missed my friend - your work will continue!💔

It is with great sadness that the Texas Society of Anesthesiologists reports the passing of ASA Director and TSA Past President, George W. Williams, MD. Dr. Williams served as the TSA President in 2022-2023 and was an active and energetic leader for our society. Dr. Williams was a beloved critical care anesthesiologist at the UT McGovern Medical School at UTHealth in the Texas Medical Center in Houston where he was Vice-Chair and a Professor of Anesthesiology. He was recognized by the ASA for the “Distinguished Educator in Anesthesiology Award” as recognition for his phenomenal efforts in all aspects of teaching. He was a mentor for a large number of TSA members who have gone on to become leaders within the TSA and beyond. He was well known for his energy, his positivity, his great smile, and his ever-present bow tie. He was a leader in anesthesiology at the national level, with large roles within the ASA and other aspects of organized medicine. He was a well-loved colleague who brightened a room every time he entered it. Our thoughts are with his wife Erin, his children, and the rest of his family and friends during this time of great loss.
