There is a level of due diligence around sensitive data, but all of the frontier labs have deep and reputable legal counsel that gives them the confidence to challenge where the red lines are drawn in exchange for maintaining accelerated growth.

That language of sacrifice in STEM is often religiously overstated. You are a problem-solver, not a martyr for scientific idealism. Build useful things, solve hard problems, and take care of yourself. Civilization benefits more from sustainable builders than burnt-out saints.
