also there is definitely overlap, but i don't count varka! i specifically am thinking of someone who'd go out of their way to deny lohen personally so he doesn't get what he wants, but say yes to others... in front of his face. it would be obviously intentional and he'd go nuts
i love lohen but it's hard finding a pairing for him i can dig into? having romantic feelings is vulnerable. he wouldn't enjoy it. i COULD play with him having feelings and hating it - but to have them you'd need to be drawn to someone? but he's only drawn to gaining power? HMM

the most delicious dynamic i can imagine is someone who he sees as more powerful than himself but keeps denying him fights incessantly. that could so easily build obsession, especially if they say yes to everyone else but not to him. nobody i can think of fits this, though

rewatching shadows amidst snowstorms made me realize s.2 wouldnโt even go into it wanting to replicate albedoโs life. heโd want to kill aether (who knows his secret) first and then use albedoโs face. it probably changed when he experienced how loving he (aether) is towards albedo
