I always exchanged goods for maize at my shops at Chikwepa and Chirunji farm in Macheke (a walking distance from Chiendambuya). I lost a lot of money. In Chitungwiza there was a huge shortage of mealie meal. I started bringing maize to Mayambara via Marondera (I grew up in Marondera so I knew all the back roads to by pass the roadblocks), I thrived in the chaos. The days I ran my piggery project in Chivhu, this guy based in UK running a dairy farm, rearing beef cattle etc along Chivhu-Gutu road started asking me to buy items and sending to Zim, I reluctantly accepted and now I deal with a dozen of queries every day, I have served Zimbabweans in many countries. My vision was to concentrate on my local SA transport hustle but it has changed. My main hustle is sending stuff to Zimbabwe and also bringing some parcels from Zim into South Africa. My message don’t be too rigid, be flexible within reason within your trade. In simple terms integrate horizontally and vertically 🙏🏿
