Our @GowanGators 4th graders got to @Zoom with author @kennethoppel today after reading Silverwing in class! We love how technology allows us to extend our learning in such meaningful ways.
Life hack, elementary teacher edition: if you want to be called “the best teacher ever”, don’t worry about planning engaging and exciting lessons. Just play the @EncantoMovie sound track during class instead of your normal instrumental covers.

Working with our 8th grade buddies to create an animation showing the layers of the earth. Hanging out with our buddies gives our Gators a chance to build community and practice using new apps in a low pressure way that we can then use in our classroom!

My favorite part of math class is when we are able to look at real world numbers and apply our learning! Today, we sorted running times with decimals. I loved hearing the conversations when they disagreed… and seeing them use math to support their arguments! #gatorsareamazing

One of our beloved custodians had his last day of work today. Our @GowanGators will miss Mr. Justin so much! Our school really is a family, and he made such an impact on our students. And he was the best sport today and took pictures with both of our 4th grade classes!

We were discussing prefixes and talked about how prefixes aren’t just random letters added before words, because we don’t usually do that in English. And then I remembered my dog’s name is Jcletus (Cletus with an optional J). There’s an exception to every rule 😂
