#wingfoil diary. #8 @ LRYC - making real ground upwind now. Getting back downwind turns out to be sketchy af as the wing backwinds in the lulls. Big shoutout to the folks who tell me they’ve read these logs. Thanks for not interacting, helps to keep me grounded. 👻

#wingfoil diary. #7 @ LRYC - new top speed of 16.1kts immediately followed by rapid unplanned deceleration. 🤕😅 steady breeze makes everything 100x easier. Faster and steadier standing up and getting on foil. Need to practice gybes on grass. No real progress there.

#wingfoil diary. #6 @ LRYC -Tried @waterspeedapp 👍! Don't have a fancy watch, just stuck my phone in my wetsuit sleeve. Fcast 12/17kts. Lulls of ~0 otw. Huge progress. Controlled foil on both tacks. Next up: Gybes. Dying for an opportunity to bear off downwind for a bit.

#wingfoil diary. Session 5 @ LRYC - Hi GM 👋! It's all coming together now! Good long controlled flights on port. Stbd wobbly but getting there! Kept upwind and recovered from launch spot 🎉 Fcast 18/30kts. 5/20 otw. Getting better at managing lulls and gusts. Balance . Stoked😎

#wingfoil diary. Session 4 @ LRYC - Flew for a good stretch on port, what a buzz! Stbd tack not so strong or balanced. Still at the high-effort-low-reward stage but great progress. fcast of 15-20kts. <10/20 on the water. Super gusty.

#Wingfoil diary. Session 3 @ LRYC - Got flying for the first time. 30 seconds or so on port tack. Enough to steer the board a bit and trim a little before losing balance in a gust. fcast of 20/30kts. 12/15 on the water.
Need to go downwind more for takeoff.
