Today, @thesoccerdon visited Generation adidas Cup and spent time with those participating in the league’s Talent ID program.
This program, led by @alecko11, includes a network of former @MLS players that evaluate the quality of competition and identify top players at the event.
The group also participates in several training sessions, including signifcant classroom time over the course of six days at Generation adidas Cup.

Thanks for raising this so I can clarify for the entire landscape:
1) No youth player in the US is prevented from registering with ANY youth club
2) MLS rules only apply to MLS clubs
3) FIFA guidance is in place to prevent minors from relocating just to play soccer for a reason

Yah hope that gets lifted all together. More than agree on the minors abroad rules but telling a kid from St. Louis he can’t sign with Nashville, etc. is messed up. Imagine if we weren’t allowed to go to school out of state or take a new job out of state 🤯

When will we expose the agents/parents who ruin the careers of promising young talents to chase $$$ or clout…? That’s the real story that no one seems to talk about and it’s happening more often than ever.

Yes, while the “fall” may seem significant to some, the reality is that Alex Alcalá, now 20 yrs old, has yet to play first-team football in his career.
He needs two things: an opportunity and consistency.
No pro/rel in Liga MX, teams like Querétaro can afford to take chances.

10 years ago, I had the privilege of working with an incredible staff and group of players to accomplish our goal of an undefeated season and national championship. It was my first and last season ever as a head coach! So many great memories that I’ll always remember fondly.

We had earned the right to host the final but instead allowed Chattanooga to do so because their community had rallied behind their team and we felt the final deserved a wild atmosphere. We played in front of 25,000 in one of the best atmospheres I’ve seen in my career. 🙌🏼
