Hot take: I’m French and football season is my personal nightmare. 90 minutes of screaming through walls… and if we win, Paris goes full chaos mode. I just wanted to ship code 😅

For those using AI agents, which ones do you use?

Giving a talk tomorrow. The biggest shift isn’t the talk, it’s the workflow. Before: hours in PowerPoint. Now: I drop ideas into Claude over time, and it organizes my thinking and builds the slides.

Sequoia (@sequoia) Partner @JulienBek tells us why the next $1Trillion company will be a software company masquerading as a services firm: "Ultimately, if you look at the TAM today, for every dollar that you spend on software, $6 are spent on services". "If you sell the tools, the models are getting better and better and so you're at risk... whereas, if you sell the services, you're actually delivering outcomes." "Until now, we could really just go after the $1, but now with services first and human at the centre, we think you can capture the six".

Do you think one day humans will work for agents? I mentioned this during a dinner last week and people laughed at me. Personally, I wouldn’t bet against it.

On Monday, a consultant told me their client was hesitating between building an in-house solution or going with @usecollect. This morning he came back with the verdict: positive feedback from the client. Despite the noise… SaaS is very much alive.

Who will launch an AI first VC firm? Only agents, no management fees, only carried.

If AI can replace you, you were probably doing replaceable work. Over the last 2 months, I’ve never had more leverage. I don’t code much anymore but I direct the machines!

Model providers should coordinate no-announcement weeks. Not for “stability.” Just so the rest of us don’t have to stay on constant alert to keep up. The pace isn’t inspiring. It’s exhausting.

I’ve been thinking: how do you reward an AI agent? Money means nothing to it. But what if model providers like @claudeai or @OpenAI launched AI gift cards? We could literally tip our agents for a job well done. More credits = more autonomy = better outcomes.

SaaS is dead. Developers are dead. Agencies are dead... That’s the vibe if you scroll LinkedIn, X or YouTube. But on the ground, it feels different. More prototypes. Faster shipping. Higher leverage. Smaller teams doing more. Maybe it’s a little bit too early to talk about extinction. Have you actually seen someone get outsized, undeniable results purely because of AI? Not better productivity. Not nicer demos. I mean real breakout growth. Who is genuinely winning big right now?

If you sell client outreach as a service, you need to be excellent at it yourself. Your messaging, your follow-ups, your targeting... But honestly, that’s rarely the case! If you can’t generate leads for your own business, it’s hard to convince me you’ll do it for mine.

Every time I read that “companies will stop using SaaS and just vibe-code everything,” it makes me smile a bit. I’ve seen businesses build very complex processes with tools like Make or n8n… and then everything becomes a mess when the person who created it leaves the company. Complexity doesn’t disappear. It just changes place. So yes, I’m quite optimistic that the SaaS market will not disappear in the next 15 days.

What is the opposite of a Turing test? A test to validate that no human is involved?
