Taco bell: Do you want to round up the price of your order to the next dollar? Me: Do you want to round down? No that sounds fucking stupid? IKR?

I'm a capitalist and a lover of free markets. I think American companies who can meet the complex needs of government contracts are wonderful examples of these pillars working together. Not one tax dollar should go into any kind of bailout. No debt guarantees.

Some asshole got a promo for adding tabs to Google Documents. That is how companies die.

Access to purchase a double decker taco is not worth installing a shitty single-purpose fast food app. I’m standing in your store and you won’t let me buy food without getting access to my phone. Guess I’ll make a sandwich.

Say what you will about the AWS definition of MVP, but Azure feels like a half-assed Frankenstein monster with half the parts missing.

AI chatbot support is hell. Stripe's bot and the AWS documentation Q bot are both absolute trash experiences.

It is 2024 and working with Ruby dependencies still sucks.

Getting pretty tired of this being almost my entire tech news feed these days.

Been in the ML/AI space since before it was cool. I’ve yet to see a use case that was not cost-savings since 2020. I’d support any measure that limited tax credits or subsidies for any company that deploys AI in an effort to drive down cost of human capital.

Remember, almost every “labor supply” issue is actually a wage issue.

Tech has gotten too big for its britches. And its diaper is full of shit.

OSS is a 10-year GTM strategy that ends in a rug-pull. 1. Solve a low-value problem by commoditizing it. 2. Get people hooked. 3. Build brand. 4. Create sudden purchasing urgency by changing licenses. No outside sales required. 5. They pay because it is a low-value problem.

The world is complicated. Don’t add to it. When you’re building a machine have a bias toward the simplest possible solution. Don’t worry about DRY until repetition adds real complication.

Gen AI is not a feature or a benefit, it’s a mechanism, a means to an end. If you feel compelled to tell me your product uses it you’re either too excited or you know it is useless and you’re marketing to investors.

Amazon Q is the biggest joke I’ve ever seen. It’s as if whoever put this together has absolutely no experience with chat interaction.

There is no way to provide feedback. I don’t think this bot has even one message worth of conversation memory. It’s just repeating the same answer to a question I’m not asking.

If this is the bold future of AI at Amazon then the future is short.

If I’m not challenged I’m not learning. There has to be some degree of suffering to work through before I can really take ownership or make a paradigm shift. But the payoff, the clarity, the mastery, and the new more monstrous challenges are amazing to me.

As soon as you add an issue tracker, your OSS project will be implicitly released under the Karen Commons License.
