This doesn’t happen in my newsroom. And it won’t. You know why? Our union fought tooth and nail to get AI protections in our contract. Companies will swear they’ll never do this until they do.
At McClatchy, if you as a reporter refuse to use the AI bot to write articles, the bosses will produce the AI slop anyway and force your editor to put your name on against your will.
