Myanmar authorities have confirmed to Bangladesh that out of a list of 800,000 Rohingyas sheltered in Bangladesh, they have identified 180,000 Rohingyas eligible for return to Myanmar.

Siddiq denies wrongdoing but stepped down, citing her role as a "distraction" to the government. Critics have raised concerns over properties linked to Siddiq and her family, as well as alleged financial irregularities in Bangladeshi infrastructure projects. Hasina launched a violent crackdown against Bangladeshi citizens by deploying snipers in buildings to target protesters. A video from July 26th in Bonosree, Dhaka, shows two protesters being shot by RAB snipers.

BANGLADESH 🇧🇩: @amnesty has analysed and authenticated witness testimonies, video and photographic evidence which confirms that the police used unlawful force against student protesters. Further witness testimonies confirm the continuation of a multi-year pattern of violence against protesters, allegedly committed by members of the Bangladesh Chatra League (BCL), a group affiliated with the ruling party. Our analysis finds that the shooting of student protestor Abu Sayed in Rangpur, was a seemingly intentional, unprovoked attack on an individual posing no threat to police officers, using ammunition designed for hunting which is extremely dangerous and unlawful for use in the policing of protests. "We urgently call on the Government of Bangladesh to rehabilitate all those injured and ensure they receive proper medical treatment.
