How gendered is the clothing offer for children? For our @SZ data analysis, we examined 20,000 shirts and shorts from @hmdeutschland, @Zalando and @aboutyou_com that they offer online for children under 10. The results show: Current children's fashion cements gender images. 🧵

Quite an extensive body of research has explored how migrants are visually represented in the media. But what about online platforms and search engines in particular? We've explored this in our new paper (open access!) Happy to see this one out 🎉nature.com/articles/s41599-0…

Dear fellow academics, when you write or publish something (even blog posts if you have a huge audience) on the war in Ukraine now, please collaborate with people who have domain expertise and speak Ukrainian and/or Russian and/or Belarusian (depending on the specific topic).

New paper by @AUrman21, Ionescu, Garcia & @ancsaaa3 in @journalqd! Preprints on Twitter became seemingly ubiquitous during Covid. The authors find "a stark increase in attention to medical preprints" and evidence of partisan polarization. Link: journalqd.org/article/view/3… 🧵⬇️ 1/

Hey CSS Twitter! Have you ever experienced Twitter's new academic API returning tweets that seem to be deleted? (e.g., not accessible anymore if you try to get to them without the API)

Did you guys ever experience this thing where google scholar indexes your preprint rather than the main publication and the pointer is wrong for a long time? If yes, can you share which outlet? thanks!

Thanks for shoutout. Here's my analysis nytimes.com/2020/05/14/opini… Nice work @dgarcia_eu @ancsaaa3 @AUrman21 and Stefania Ionescu!

Replying to @dgarcia_eu
The composition of users sharing a preprint might not be stable over time. For example, for the Santa Clara preprint, one can see how republicans had a high interest since the beginning, as @aleszubajak also showed. However, shares by democrats increased in June. 7/

Awesome summary from @dgarcia_eu about our new study on the politicization of medical preprints.
Are medical preprints getting politicized on Twitter since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic? We explore this topic with @ancsaaa3, @AUrman21, and Stefania Ionescu in our latest (not peer-reviewed yet) preprint: preprints.jmir.org/preprint/… 1/
