I'm officially calling myself an Award-Winning Tech Lead! Incredibly proud of what me and my team created with our friends at Reece.
We’re over the moon. It’s been announced... Thoughtworks is a winner of the Good Design Award for the Imagin3D project with Reece.🎉 We worked on the award winning 3D Bathroom Planner, which has just been recognized by @GoodDesignAus. See our project: thght.works/465wBKn 🏆

From "A Philosophy of Software Design" by @JohnOusterhout, in the chapter about consistency... "The value of consistency over inconsistency is almost always greater than the value of one approach over another"... What do people think?

On the money? Too reductive? Biased against innovation? Biased towards "first in wins"? My experience is that long-lived codebases will have N approaches to anything. My job is often around reducing N, but I favour N > 1 over N == 1 in terms of what is achievable.

If only I had a dollar for every time I've clashed with an overly officious building manager who loves making bike commuting just that little bit trickier by confiscating the bag of work/cycling clothes I leave near my bike. 4 weeks in new building and today was "that day"

I just came across a Captcha on a online CC payment screen after the card details had been validated but before the payment had been confirmed... does it matter whether it is a machine at this point?

Sign, I just (re) learned the value of language-specific IDEs... after hitting my head against a VS Code wall trying to reference a class in a namespace from a separate testing project, JetBrains Rider showed me immediately that I hadn't given the class a .cs extension :-(

Today I signed a contract with a new employer. The last time I did that; * W was in the White House * the Brisbane Lions were reigning AFL premiers, and * Enron were on their last legs. It's been a minute.
