If you missed @marclou 's indie hackers meetup, here's some startup advice he shared afterward. Thank you Marc for being incredibly kind and generous with your time!
100 indie hackers showed up today 🤯 It’s the 3rd biggest meetup I organized and I still can’t believe it happened in Korea. When I was there in 2018, there was barely no one building indie startups. Korea is a really nice place for indie hackers because there are coworking spaces (cafes) with AC everywhere. And also good, healthy, and cheap food. It’s very convenient. Anyway, we met at 8am for an optional run, and 80 people showed up to sweat together! More than half of them either don’t run or don’t wake up early, so a lot of people got out of the comfort zone today 😁 Thank you everyone for joining today 🫰 대한민국 만세 🇰🇷

Video editing is quickly becoming a conversation instead of only a timeline. I'm building an AI video editor with video agents that can do this and much more from simple instructions. If you're interested, join the waitlist: aravitystudios.com/videoedit…

Lots of people asked how I used Fable to edit its own launch video so I made a video about that! TLDR it wrote a lot of code & tool calls to use transcription services, ffmpeg, do colorgrading, use the figma mcp, make remotion UI and render it. I didn't touch a video editor.

The event was so good! Got to connect with so many like-minded entrepreneurs! Thanks again for dropping some sauce for us after the run. Gonna edit the video a bit and share it with the community :)

As a tech entrepreneur I love black t-shirt. If it wasn't weird, I'd buy a 7 black t-shirts and wear them when I’m grinding. I think the GOAT @zuck used to prefer the grey ones.

I DMed 15 creators to test my app this week. A few ignored me. Some responded. I gave the ones who replied free lifetime access. Now I'm wondering: should I also ask for a 5-star App Store review. I wonder if it is a thing to ask for a review upfront

I wouldn't wake up at 1:30am and stay up until 5am for a live if there wasn't that much value in it. Man, I got so much out of this - knowledge, mindset, standards. @ledevultime Thank you for that Masterlive! Thanks to @VenumSnake1, @Riley_Ikni for sharing their xp too!

No one tells you this about working in a big tech. You'll at some point leave for a new opportunity. But some of those colleagues? Friends for life. An old Microsoft friend visited Seoul. We talked for hours! A thing that no one tells is that corporate give you friends for life

I just built a landing page for my mobile app. I thought the App Store link was enough but turns out landing pages do 3 things your App Store page can't: SEO traffic before the download Warm up cold visitors before the install Give you a conversion funnel you actually own

Now I wonder if I should put in the tiktok bio the landing page or app store link. Landing direct link: aravitystudios.com/televa

Hot take: the ROI of offline events is underrated in the tech/creator world. Everyone's optimizing for async and remote. Meanwhile one in-person conversation shortcuts months of trust-building. Plus, it is so fun to meet people in person.

I'm an introvert who thought online networking was enough. Then I went to offline events in Seoul. One real conversation = more value than 3 months of DMs. Yes, it costs time and energy. That's exactly why it's worth it.

Why are developers so scared of marketing? I finished my app months ago. Since then I've found every possible task to avoid it. I know the highest ROI on my time right now is marketing. I'm still avoiding it. Any indie hackers feel this way? Or is it just me?

Analytics tell you what happened. Watching a real person use your app tells you why. There's no substitute.

This is wild. OpenAI just dropped Codex Sites. Now anyone can give it a plan, dashboard, launch doc or idea, and turn it into an interactive app with a URL. 5 wild examples:

Today a friend tested my app in real life in front of me. 10 minutes. More useful than weeks of analytics. No report tells you what watching someone hesitate on a button tells you. No beta tester describes confusion the way a confused face does. Watch someone use it in person.

For an app such as @shopify, going down is wild. As vibecoding becomes a thing, these production issues might occur more often. Product leaks like with Anthropic, now product down. It happened in the past, but it seems like we're back in the "move fast, break things" era

I don't know what Koreans put in their food. But I've been more productive this week than I've been in months. Currently exploring all theories.

I shot 3 videos and edited 2 today. Terrifying beforehand. Fine the moment I started. Developers hide behind code because it feels like the only "real" work. It's not. Marketing is work. Design is work. Learning is work. We should stop gatekeeping our own productivity.
