Just watched four dudes carry another dude in a wheelchair up the stairs of a subway station and I love people in New York City but goddamn it’s an embarrassment that someone in a wheelchair literally cannot get around alone in one of the greatest cities in the world.

Because in America’s sick health care system, it’s the patient who has to spend hours submitting documents and appeals. The health care company, on the other hand, has absolutely no obligation to be transparent about their decisions.

It’s truly criminal. Companies like @Aetna are institutionalized racketeering schemes. They extract money from their customers through coercion and fraud. They lie with impunity, knowing they could easily ruin someone’s life but no one has the power to do the same to them.
