In defense of Hiiragi Magnetite's Zaako with Kaai Yuki and why it's very heavily misunderstood in the non jp community ( hear me out )
it's not mesugaki, its a tsundere girl with a crush on her classmate like nagatoro.
the japanese word '変態' has a broader meaning than the english 'h-ntai.' In japanese, the kanji '変態' directly means "transformation" or "strange attitude." it can mean 'weirdo' or 'eccentric,' not just something sexual, and is often used as such. the original subtitles are called inaccurate by many japanese people, and literally are and were poorly made.
in this, she is his 'bully', calling him strange, a freak, etc. the japanese word 'zako' originally means 'small fish' literally, but over time, it has also come to mean 'insignificant person' or 'someone who is not worth considering.' or in more simple terms , a loser. "zako" also tends to refer to "weakling" as in strength. this explains why fish appear in the music video, as the term has this metaphorical meaning. her boyfriend/crush is depicted as the sardine, and she makes fun of him for being a weakling, as he is a "small fry", someone who she teases is insignificant. but this is her tsundere trope. it is shown she is afraid of men who aren't weaklings (bigger fish/buffer men), and that he is her type, out of all the fish in the sea. it's a play on words
this concept was heavily misunderstood by non jp audiences immedietly, who took it as a sexual degradation rather than a tsundere love story between a girl who's scared he'll leave her so she puts up a front and teases him. right after he almost does is when she takes off her jacket, that's all she does, so he'll think she's pretty and stay, all while being tsundere. its intended to be a romantic comedy, and to laugh at the irony of her character.
her voice was not intended to be sexualized, nor does she sing any sexual lyrics, nor does he sexualize her voice in any way, nor does she break kaai yukis TOS at all. that is for p/rn. it was taken down out of fear of misunderstanding as he said himself, not because he admitted he did something wrong, but because everyone misunderstood. the captions on the original video were poorly made and inaccurate leading to further misunderstandings.
you're obviously not supposed to whip out ur dong watching this. it's a cute video about her teasing affection, and many japanese people consider it a joke video and are shocked at the outrage, and that a lot of peoples minds are in the gutter, saying that anyone who lives in japanese culture would understand the words she used can very much be innocent and are normal for school kids to say
i really think audiences need to think more and be more respectful to the creators whose music they listen to, to even bother to look into it before telling them they're horrible people
this was supposed to be a simple cute tsundere love story and he got told awful things by thousands
