How Bitcoin mining works ⛏️ Transactions enter the mempool, miners select transactions and build a candidate block, hash those transactions into a Merkle tree, include the Merkle root in the block header, set the bits field for the current difficulty target, and compete to solve the Proof-of-Work puzzle by changing the nonce until they find a valid hash. Once a valid block is found, it gets broadcast to the network, verified by nodes, added to the blockchain, and the winning miner earns the current 3.125 BTC block reward, plus transaction fees, plus $NAT 🟧
