Over the years there seem to have been quite a few failed attempts to "fix" email. Could it be because they're over-optimising for the small minority of correspondence over the vast majority of notification/update/offer content?

Perhaps existing clients can own the dwindling volume of two-way comms (too much friction/not enough value to move) and the real opportunity for disruption is in the read-only space? @heyhey has The Feed, but I think a total unbundling could allow for much more.

It’s taken me until my 3rd Apple Watch to understand that the idea isn’t to select the perfect single watch face, but to create a set of faces & complications you switch between for work, exercise, after-hours, etc.

I reckon this idea could integrate more tightly with iOS’s new Focus modes — setting your focus changes your watch face (and vice versa), controlling more than just notifications.
