Despite the war and ongoing negative global news flow, South Africa has actually been seeing steady improvements on the debt from.
- Yesterday Fitch upgraded our debt rating to BB, their 1st upgrade in 21 yrs.
- last month Moody's upgraded the outlook on our debt from Stable to Positive.
- End 2025 S&P Global upgraded our debt to BB with a Positive outlook (this was the first credit upgrade the country has received by a global credit agency in 16 yrs), they affirmed this rating over the last week.
Our debt is however still rated non-investment grade (junk), we are two upgrades away from being investment grade.

Jared Kushner, a 'volunteer' with no official position, has $6 billion in assets from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Qatar-the same governments he is negotiating with on Middle East peace. Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump have invested in drone companies that are now competing for Pentagon contracts in the war their father started.
Forbes estimated that Eric and Don Jr., they were worth about $40, $50 million each before the 2024 election. About a year later, Eric at $400 million and Donald Trump Jr. at about $300 million.
