82 years ago today Scotty from Star Trek was shot 6 times during D-Day while fighting for Canada during WWII. On June 6, 1944, James M. Doohan of Vancouver, later of Sarnia, landed at Juno Beach while serving in the Canadian Army. He was wounded six times later that day by friendly fire and later became best known as Scotty on Star Trek. 🇨🇦

The Claude Lemieux story today reminds me how angry I got when people that are ignorant/stupid mocked Victor Hedman’s absence from Tampa while struggling with mental health. We are beyond the point where the stigma should still exist. We can do better and be better.

The hockey world lost a true warrior. Claude was one of the best teammates I ever played with. We shared so many unforgettable moments and memories together, and I’ll always be grateful for that. My thoughts and prayers are with the Lemieux family. Rest in peace, Claude.
