I hate this particular phenomenon bc like it’s normal to explain something to a child in long form “your feet are near the edge of that! Be careful” and then shorten it as a reminder later to just “be careful!” and other parents around don’t always hear the long form explainer🤪

Accidentally let a “be careful!” slip while at the park with children and was lectured by someone telling me that phrasing is harmful for their development 😭 girl get off the internet

one of my many illustrious talents is quitting out of a game at the point riiiiight before i need to do a ton of fucking sneaking/killing/both and it's far away from a fast travel point so i have to immediately deal with this bullshit lmao

sometimes i watch the older kids (elementary aged) outside and realize that there's gonna be a day someday where i'm like "go play outside" and i don't have to go out with her, she'll be cool to just play basketball or run around or chat with other kids and i can check in omg

there's a little boy about 18m older than her that lives across the street and another one of the neighbor kids has a fresh baby brother so my kid will have other kids around her age too built in 🥰
