Dear fellow Indians from Hindi heartland, I’m a Tamilian from agricultural family in a remote village in Tamilnadu. We worship cows every year on Maatu Pongal. Many of my relatives’ income is based on cow milk. When we construct a new home, during house warming ceremony, cow is the first one to enter the home, we sprinkle Gaumutra in every nook and corner of the newly built home. In my ancestral home (built by my grand father) we used to coat our floor with cow dung. Even now, open space around our home would be coated with cow dung. We have a bull called ‘saamy maadu’ (God’s bull) in the Amman Temple in our village, that’s a sacred bull and roams freely without any leash. If the bull enters someone’s farmland and eat their crops, people won’t chase him away. Instead, they feel happy ‘Saamy Maadu’ is feeding himself in their farmland. So Gaumata and Gaumutra are sacred to us and very much integral part of our life. That DMK MP @DrSenthil_MDRD doesn’t represent Tamilians, he is just one racist bigot representing an anti-Hindu and anti-farmer political party.
