Some fun Friday news! This is my first official week back at the University of Edinburgh @SBSatEd as a @royalsociety University Research Fellow.
My group will be working on wild animal microbiomes in the context of global change and I am beyond excited for this new chapter.
We are excited to announce a support scheme for ECRs wishing to attend ESEB 2025 and participate in the WAME-sponsored symposium “Contribution of the microbiome to host adaptation and plasticity”
See here for more details and please share!

Friday news: our @RSocPublishing Phil Trans B Special Issue is out!! Have a read if you're interested in any element of spatial and social behaviour and their interactions; thanks so much to all our wonderful contributing authors, and to my fellow editors royalsocietypublishing.org/t…
Time to announce: I’ve just started a position as an Assistant Professor in Zoology (Animal Behaviour) at Trinity College Dublin @TCD_NatSci ! The lab’s gonna work on integrative studies of social and spatial behaviour and their effects on disease dynamics. Can’t wait.
Excited about the epidemiology of emerging viruses? We're looking for one or more postdocs in - count em - FOUR areas. Join us right as we move into a beautiful office full of brilliant and kind colleagues from across Yale's campus. (1/2) apply.interfolio.com/153039
Interested in small mammals, eco-evo, the microbiome, hormones, maternal effects? My research group is recruiting again - come join us in beautiful Tucson, Arizona. Contact me for more info & see below👇. Apps due Dec 1. Please RT & share

New PhD on bat virus epidemiology in Belize and Kenya with @MafaldaSViana, Laura Bergner and me @UofGSBOHVM. Part of a larger NIH project with @DiseaseEcol @danjbecker & @lunn_tamika. Bats models metagenomics field experiment! Apply now, closing 1 Sept '24 findaphd.com/phds/project/fu…
Heads up animal behavior researchers!
Amazing opportunity: 3 3-year independent postdoctoral fellowships based in Panama at the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute. Deadline July 15.
Come collaborate with @livingingroups@MPI_animalbehavstri.si.edu/academic-program……
Proud to see this out from my PhD! The culmination of years of work data collection by many people. Does gut microbiome variation matter in free-living wildlife?

Sure seems to for survival in @SI_Horses
Why?
We think it might be partly related to…

NEW 🌡️🏥 We built a platform to track attribution science on the health impacts of climate change, building on our work last year with @WellcomeTrust. Hopefully useful for journalists, climate litigation, & other scientists. Check it out: healthattribution.org. Please RT!
Check out our preprint! This was an absolutely tremendous effort led by Greg and a delight to see develop. Lots of fun results to unpack surrounding density dependence and spatial / social processes across a vast representation of animal systems.
We recently preprinted our meta-analysis of spatial and social behaviour in wild animal systems! Have a read if you're interested in density dependence, disease transmission, network scaling and structuring, or comparative behavioural work: doi.org/10.1101/2024.06.28.6… (1/4)
