This usually transpires in real space, but I'll 100% take virtual this year. I picked some of the work of SAIC grads that stood out to me the most, and I encourage you to check it out, too.

The British Museum is full of stolen artifacts.
As the world reckons with the damage inflicted during Europe’s colonial global takeover, the calls for cultural and historical treasures to be returned are getting louder and louder.

"The world is too much with us; late and soon, / Getting and spending, we lay waste our powers; — / Little we see in nature that is ours; / We have given our hearts away, a sordid boon!" — @sarahuristgreen reads William Wordsworth on today's episode! youtube.com/watch?v=PD493ya5…
Art is, and has been, so many things.
How do we even begin to define it? Is it worth even trying?
Our new video is out exploring THE DEFINITION OF ART, a topic we’ve resisted for years but wanted to address before we break.

The Art Assignment (@artassignment) has been a huge influence on Accession from the very beginning, and I am really thankful for the honesty Sarah shares in this video. I can't wait to see the evolution of this project into the future! youtube.com/watch?v=T6IyOUWP…
THREAD: After 6 years and 220 videos since the Art Assignment began, we’re announcing that we are going to
➡️ Take a few months off
➡️ Dramatically slow down production
Why? I’d love to share some reasons.
youtube.com/watch?v=T6IyOUWP…
The Art Assignment is not going away. Videos will still be made on a much slower basis, but The Art Assignment will be shifting & evolving to focus less on videos & more on the potential of everything else.
What does that mean? Not sure. We need some time to figure that out.
As for me, I’m looking to read more, see more art, make more art, talk to more people about art, and in general think more slowly about what art education could and should look like in 2020 and beyond.
Thank you SO much to every member of this community. You all are exemplary.
Artists have abandoned artworks for many reasons throughout history. Guest host @johngreen shares some of his favorite unfinished artworks and explains why they resonate with him so deeply.
