Another work as a co-author got accepted to USENIX FAST 2023, this time it's Android (UFS)! I'm grateful for the team and the opportunity allowing me to work on something that's my passion. usenix.org/conference/fast23… I believe it'll be published sometime in Feb, 2023.

When Fable 5 is used for frontier LLM development, it does not notify the user and instead limits the model’s capabilities through methods such as prompt modification, steering vectors, and PEFT. Anthropic estimated that this would affect approximately 0.03% of traffic.

mythos will be bad ON PURPOSE on ai "frontier llm research" tasks, this is very very sad for the research community also the fact that this is un purpose not visible to the user is crazy
Introducing Claude Fable 5: a Mythos-class model that we’ve made safe for general use. Its capabilities exceed those of any model we’ve ever made generally available.

I ran it in Windows Sandbox and it did delete things to the point the sandbox is unresponsive (though a lot of errors due to permissions). Did have to add --no-preserve-root So now we have a universal rm -rf / --no-preserve-root

Any recommendations on producing some real usable diagrams from AI? Maybe it needs some proper prompts but ChatGPT is still producing diagrams too basic.

The year is 2026 and Linux distros still don't have a sensible OOM policy.

That looks more like it was scraped, not burned. Like it got caught in some high RPM delta fan and paid the price.

There's 2 7000 RPM fans blowing at max whenever there's a CPU load so the cable should be cool.. not sure how could this have happened

So how does this differ from hardware P states (Speedshift) exactly?
Microsoft's latest Windows 11 Release Preview build includes the highly anticipated Low Latency Profile feature, which speeds up app launches and system flyouts significantly. The feature landing in Release Preview means it's just a few weeks away from general availability, so it won't be long before all Windows 11 PCs are enjoying this significant performance upgrade windowscentral.com/microsoft…

I was tired. I was 99% sure Claude won't be able to do it, especially because the VM was behind SSH, but yolo'd anyways. It found the root cause in one shot in under 6 minutes.

Had to manually go over the code to review whether it was correct, but it was impressive nonetheless.
