this discourse is getting so fucking old. global poverty levels have never been lower. for context was over 40% in the 80s and it's around 10% now depending on what threshold you use. most of it concentrated in sub-saharan africa. almost as if perpetual aid and handouts that the "redistributooors" are asking for do nothing to change that.
in contrast, the factor that drove the decline of global poverty was economic growth in east-asia. growth driven by the same kind of people that are consistently being criticised by the cognitively impaired. mind boggling stuff.
on every metric of development things have been objectively improving yet somehow ppl still chose to bemoan an outcome that doesn't affect them or the state of the world in the slightest.
if anything the fact that billionaires and trillionaires exist (not the zimbabwe kind) should be aspirational. a mental unlock to tickle one's imagination as to what is possible in this day and age.
istg ppl always need a reason to be outraged and miserable about the dumbest things.
Call me a hater but I think living in a world where both trillionaires and global poverty coexist is a sign humanity has failed as a species
