Health Canada has released a projection based on expected vaccine supply for next year. No public health measure ever has complete uptake in a population, so vaccinations for those who want one will probably be finished in the fall, with the bulk occuring in the spring.
This is a great chart comparing the effects of the disease vs the effects of its vaccine for a range of diseases including influenza, measles, and polio. Approved vaccines are safe and save lives.

Yet at the same time it understandably feels to the public like the vaccine is taking forever. Experiments take time. Immunity takes time to build. Cells to make vaccines take time to grow. These aspects can't be sped up. There have even been shipping delays for materials /4
In the end, the scientists working on this worldwide effort have the same goals as you. We want schools to be safe for children. We want businesses to open and thrive. We are your neighbours and your family. Just give us a bit more time. /5
