One thing I’ve been learning lately while developing “A Demon Hunter’s Guide to Passing Finals” is that players really connect with memorable moments. Sometimes it’s an emotional scene. Sometimes it’s a rare encounter.

New Monster Reveal: Demon Slime This beast doesn’t depend on HP. Its life force is tied to mana. An immortal monster. But only as long as its mana reserves remain, it will continue to reform. At Kaito Onimaru Academy, understanding a monster can be just as important as defeating it. #IndieGame #JRPG #MonsterDesign #RPGMakerMZ

It’s been a while since my last update. Between family health challenges, special-needs parenting, and neurological challenges, progress has been slower than I’d like. Even so, DHG is still moving forward with new content and improvements. We’re still building. Demo👇 joelheath42.itch.io/a-demon-… GoFundMe👇 gofund.me/debe12c56 #IndieGame #JRPG #GameDev

Spent more time polishing A Demon Hunter’s Guide to Passing Finals today — refining small gameplay details, adding new skills, and expanding the weapon & armor systems. Every update brings the world closer to what we envisioned.

And sometimes it’s accidentally finding a weapon named “Kindness” with unlimited ammo capacity. So while polishing DHG, we’re leaning harder into discoverable moments, unique mechanics, anime-inspired storytelling, and the kind of unexpected things players talk about afterward.

Since then, I’ve continued developing the game, refining systems, improving combat and progression mechanics, expanding the world, and preparing for opportunities to publicly showcase the project later this year. This dream is still alive. Still growing. Still moving forward.

This project started as a way to rebuild my life after disability made traditional work a challenge that was beyond my skills. Seeing it slowly evolve into something real has meant more to me than I can put into words. Still a long road ahead. Still learning. Still building.
