“Good work done in the same way for too long, or done in the wrong way for any amount of time, eats away at our sense of being right with the world.” – David Whyte

Diet Coke is out of stock because of an aluminium can shortage caused by the Iran war? Bullshit 💩. Seems like @CocaCola_Ind has orchestrated this shortage to force people to switch to their new, higher margin Coke Zero. Here’s why: - If there was a n aluminium can shortage, it would affect all canned beverages, why only Diet Coke? - The MRP for a 300ml can of Diet Coke is Rs. 40 - The MRP for the new 330ml can of Coke Zero is Rs. 70! - Coke is putting billboards for Coke Zero all over town. Of course India’s 40% GST on flavoured carbonated beverages is no joke. So if you are missing your Diet Coke, don’t blame the war, blame Indian Government and The Coca Cola company @CocaCola_Ind

“Think about it,” she said. “About whether you might leave behind your critical voice, your greed and people-pleasing patterns. Or at least let them be weakened.” “You will have to pry them from my cold dead hands,” I interrupted. “You do your little pitch, Syd, and I’ll do mine at the other end of the beach: ‘Try harder at everything. Hoard. Amass. Cling to self-promotion and perfectionism.’ I’ll tell them it’s why people respect you. ^^ Excerpt from Anne’ Lamott’s book Somehow. Always surprising, always delightful, always honest. One of my favourite voices in world.

Trying to get back to using X/Twitter, but tweet after tweet reads like sales pitches for an essay or a piece of content, structured like so: <Raving testimonial #1> <Raving testimonial #2> <More…> <Read Now> The feed used to feel like walking around a library or a college square. Now it just feels like a content mall.

“Telling people slow down isn’t advice. It’s ignorance.” “We aren’t just debating economics. We are confronting guilt.” “This is not glamour. This is survival, conviction craft.” This is not one person. This is three friends from different walks of life, who in person have very unique ways of articulating themselves. Why do they sound like each other? Because all AI writing sounds like this. nytimes.com/2025/12/03/magaz… I hope AI writing tools evolve to mimic individual idiosyncrasies instead of making all ideas rendered in this tiresome mono-style.

“I do not walk around my house thinking about my legacy. What a pompous way to live your life, walking around thinking: ‘What will my legacy be?’ Whatever, I’ll be dead. I care about now. I care about the living.” – JK Rowling

Opening Instagram feels like browsing through this, except laid out nicely in one long vertical strip without any envelopes. (And yet I do it multiple times a day 🥲)
