One coaching idea from Bill Belichick completely changed how I think about defensive matchups.
Sometimes he wouldn't put his best corner on the other team's best receiver.
Why?
Because if he was already double-teaming that receiver, sending extra protection, and he didn't want to waste his best defender there too.
That influenced how I think about matchups in basketball.
Maybe your best defender shouldn't always guard their best player.
And maybe your worst defender shouldn't be hidden at all.

HS Coaches: Be sure you understand college recruitment especially at the D3 level. Players are offered roster spots by the HC before enrolling. I am hearing HS coaches encouraging “walking on”…that barely exists today. If they are told by the HC they are college ready and have a roster spot - they are being recruited! ADs: Inservice about college recruitment is a must.

Coaching girls vs. boys? 3 general truths to remember:
Girls thrive on team unity first; boys connect through competition.
Girls accept coaching readily, but need the "why." Boys want to show their IQ.
Girls underconfident, boys overconfident

@UnSportsESPN two things can be true Arch definitely did not play well, but look at UTs red zone 2023 120th& 2024 90th nationally. Maybe Sark needs an offensive coordinator new concepts/new energy. Also lacking no dominant run game and no real special guys on outside.
