I don't really have a DNI, but I do have a (probably longer than necessary) list of stances I'm not going to change my mind on. ellisand.carrd.co/

look I just do not care how people *feel* about fictional ships of any kind as long as they remain feelings and are not hurting real people. sorry, but I just don't have the time, energy, or mental capacity to litigate what's going on in someone's head.

once you start insulting, threatening, calling down punishment, pushing for real life detrimental action, telling people to self-harm, *then* I'm bothered, but that's outside the realm of *just* feelings.

your reminder that you are absolutely allowed to hate m/m but you still don't get to call the shippers misogynist or imply that they need to *stop* writing fic just because the numbers on AO3 aren't what you want them to be

some people are getting heated in the QRTS so: by "hate m/m" I do in fact mean that some people will, for their own reasons, not enjoy fictional content about m/m to the point of avoiding it, and I will take that as a personal preference and move on.

especially in smut, which, lbr, is what most of this discourse is actually about, which is why it's funny when people are like "it's about putting women in your fanfic!!" okay where am I putting the women in the bed and do they really want to be there.

to be momentarily bitter, I sure hope all those "secret third thing" adults with a job are looking forward to all the inconvenience and censorship of an internet made safe for kids by assuming literally no-one can be trusted with fictional content for adults

you might not have known this is what you wanted, but this is what you wanted. now everything is safe and no-one can be hurt by fictional content- as decided by conservatives and radfems, which is exactly what people were warning you would happen

the only way censorship can succeed is if it's done with the biggest brush possible, because to allow any exceptions allows thought and discussion on the topic, and that's the last thing censors want because then you might start questioning the censorship

plus the implication is that consent and autonomy are sometimes optional, drives me up the wall. I do not want consent to be treated as optional, thanks. what even are rapists gonna learn, that they were correct to think consent is irrelevant?
Please stop saying that "rapists deserve to be raped" because you're unknowingly pushing the idea that rape can be accepted circumstantially, like as a reasonable punishment, which is actually what contributes to people being raped in the first place

the end result of treating art as a kind of cultural commodity is that the art itself and engaging with art becomes worthless. All that's left is the bite-size trivia and the financial value.

and the artist becomes pointless- which is a feature, not a bug, because techbros don't like it when people have values that are not Technological Progress At All Costs

yes I am insufferable and preaching to the choir but man, I'm already depressed and the future of any art is looking kinda bleakly like "eventually we'll just even skip the facade and all entertainment will be An AI-Generated Conglomerate Synopsis"

you know rather than give people silly age gaps to Avoid and then trying to justify it with ever-moving goalposts and exceptions you could just educate people about the signs of an abusive relationship which is more generally applicable and useful to far more people

*and* doesn't require you to tie yourself in knots to give silly reasons why a 23 should *never* date a 23- even though that could literally be 2 days apart in age, or need you to constantly change what ages you're talking about like you never specified those exact numbers

if I had a penny for every time someone declared fictional rape was as bad as IRL rape, therefore, whether they think so or not, basically implying that the presence of an *actual victim* and the violation of that *real person's consent* is irrelevant...

"if you defend [fictional] rape in front of a rape victim they'd be hurt" nah I'm more bothered that my autonomy and consent are considered kind of unimportant to the crime that violated them, thanks.
