Today I so enjoyed receiving with my Churchill Medallion and becoming a Churchill Fellow properly! My dear brother introduced me to the idea in 2018 (when he listened to @BBCWomensHour), I travelled in 2019, I published in 2020 and today I celebrated with my fellow Fellows. 1/🧵

(leading to its criminalisation). In the coming months, I’m looking forward to supporting the next stage of a network for health professionals caring for women with FGM…and I know there will be many other collaborations in years to come. 3/🧵

On this #EverydayCourage #InternationalWomensDay .I have chosen to courageously share my own story in this blog because it is the powerful driver behind my determination to work with others to #narrowthegap of health inequalities england.nhs.uk/blog/tackling…

It's a #goodday when the elders catch up with the trendiest activity on the block! 💉 (I thought I'd get in trouble if I called them the oldies) Only one action shot taken...but sounds like they left a trail of laughter and chaos behind them as expected! Thank you @NHSuk 🙏

Thoroughly enjoyed spending time with @lbbdcouncil Domestic Abuse Housing team and colleagues talking about #EndFGM and how everyone can help. Perfectly timed, on behalf on @FGMNCG on @UN_Women International Day for Elimination of Violence against Women

Working to #EndFGM can be really hard. Today is @UN_Women International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women - good time to think about how we can sustain the work for each and every of the 365 days every year. #FGM is a violent manifestation of gender inequality.

"One of the criticisms I've faced over the years is that I'm not aggressive enough or assertive enough, or maybe somehow, because I'm empathetic, it means I'm weak. I totally rebel against that. I refuse to believe that you cannot be both compassionate & strong." Jacinda Ardern

Excited and so proud to share my new #EndFGM @wcmtuk research. People involved in the work to EndFGM face personal and professional challenges because of their involvement; we must offer support to help them carry on. Read, share, discuss and debate: wcmt.org.uk/fellows/reports/…
