When the grandkids are out of school. As in, adults. I'm 65, I still pay, because my grands are 7, 5, and 3. Their parents have enough expenses to deal with, golf shouldn't be one of them.

Never. Paying for golf and paying for dinner at a restaurant is one of the last remaining rights a father has

Parents for the love of god please stay out of your son or daughters dugout. Players, stop going to visit mommy and daddy during the game. You might as well go out on the field with an emotional support stuffed animal at this point it’s getting a little nuts. Get their water or whatever they need before the game you don’t need to visit each other 5 times a game and then wonder why they can’t do hard things on their own.

When I coached high school, I managed my players hours. During AAU season, AAU was priority. If they wanted to come in and get shots, then cool. And you know what? We won and the kids got scholarships. If you know how to run a program, you don't have to physically kill the kids.

Chloe Johnson, Ari Peterson, the Wilson’s all made the jump at a similar time for AIA. AIA hired Johnson’s trainer as a coach. Probably didn’t want to be a part of the Greenway show w/North Tartan. Have a feeling there was more to it besides wanting to be the next Caitlin Clark.

I think we eliminate tech from schools in general. Ditch the chromebooks and iPads. Lot of research about it. Have a separate (required) class that they learn how to use it separately. Otherwise it becomes something that erodes skills in my opinion.

I have came around to believe this is 💯accurate
Unpopular Youth Coaching Takeaway: "The decision is more important than the technique." If learn when to shoot, pass, or drive, execution will improve with time. If they never learn the decision, “perfect form” won’t transfer. What made you rethink technique-first coaching?

Nobody is required to love your dog. I know I sound like a prick. But stop bringing them in stores. Just last Friday, I stopped in a store and a guy in checkout has his dog and it jumps on me as I walk past them. “Oh he just loves people” they say obliviously. So? I’m having to go to customers and the dog got dirt streaks on the thigh of my pants. And spare me the “if you don’t like it, don’t go in the store” bullshit. If you can’t make it through a store without your dog, it’s not me with the issues. I had a dog. It was a great dog. Best part of our family at times. But I expect NOBODY to have to deal with my occasionally over-excited dog, especially in a public place. I’d never have even thought of bringing a dog (I’ve seen it twice now) in a restaurant. Hell, if a person came over my house who was uncomfortable with it acting up, I’d take him in the other room. And for those with actual service pets? You really should speak up, because the people who don’t have well trained dogs are going to lose you that privilege. *end rant

The numbers are sobering: • By age 14, girls are quitting sports (including soccer) at nearly twice the rate of boys. • 43% of girls who saw themselves as “sporty” disengage after primary school. • Girls cite fear of judgment (68%), low confidence (61%), and not feeling safe (43%) as top reasons for leaving. • 70% of kids overall quit by age 13 as fun evaporates and the “no fun, all pressure” culture takes over and girls are hit hardest. They’re not lacking passion. They’re facing rising performance pressure, shifting social expectations, fewer female role models, higher costs, and environments that no longer feel like theirs. Soccer ⚽️ should be a lifelong source of confidence, friendships, strength, and joy, not something they walk away from @SRUSA_Official

Please give this a watch! It's the most in-depth piece of my career! I started filming in October, and wrapped up on Saturday. Through hours of video, days of editing, and nights at the court, this mini Maddyn Greenway documentary came to life. 👇 varsity.startribune.com/madd…
