My article, "We know what attention is!" is out in @TrendsCognSci . it argues that our experimental methodology commits us to a simple functional conception of attention. In that sense, we agree on and know what attention is. I will thread about it later.

A random thought on hiring: I would have thought a good rule of thumb is don't hire someone when all the letters of recommendation from previous coworkers are: "ABSOLUTELY DO NOT hire this guy!”.

Cog sci folks: Does anyone have a copy of Kahneman's "Attention and Effort" that they wouldn't mind parting with & selling to me?
NB: people in the used book world are selling it as a collectors item. I don't think it is. Just want a working copy.
