Some online bookstores have added the paperback to their listings! Ebooks to come later.
Storytelling as magic! Betrayal and control! Forging a place for outcasts! Exploration and discovery!
App off my phone. I can still be tagged by publishers, readers, other writers. Won't completely delete the account and will check in occasionally.
But yeah. No reason to have this site always available. No wish to add ad revenue to nazis.
If you're reading for awards, I'd love you to consider "In the City of the Faced" from @factorfourmag (flash fiction), or any of my other publications this year: danielausema.com/2024/12/awa…
I mentioned my poetry chapbook the other day, when it was only available in Sweden. But now there's a B&N listing, too. So what's the scoop?
It's been a whirlwind, far faster than just about any other thing I've published. So need a moment to get my thoughts straight...
Then November came, and some poet friends were writing thematically linked poems with the eye toward putting together a chapbook.
So I did the same with my ephemeral village in the mists, exploring the nature of reality and belonging.
And now it's available! (even outside of Sweden) At the moment, the other option is B&N: barnesandnoble.com/w/ephemer…
Published by Island of Wak-Wak, cover art by Belgian landscape artist Charles Leickert.
My new chapbook of poems is out! But only in select locations for now. Like...Sweden. Published by Island of Wak-Wak Press.
Link below, and watch for more information about these poems as the chapbook becomes more widely available!
Encouraged by some other writers that even in times like these (especially in times like these?), sharing my writing is important, just want to say that the Arcist Chronicles as a whole is about people resisting power and corruption. And creating something better.
*A Trade in Betrayals* has some times when the characters especially feel their powerlessness. And other times when the surprising turn of events plus (especially) the small efforts of many people actually begin to bring change, to resist, to set a path for something better,
culminating in the climactic scenes.
I'm feeling gutted. Maybe you are too. But now we start telling the story of what's next. Would love to hear what other stories you've come across that help you find the strength to not lose hope!
In my small act of defiance against hatred and lies (obviously in addition to voting, encouraging others, etc), I started learning Haitian Creole this weekend.
Still very basic vocab in that typical Duolingo way, but really fun too, especially if you speak even a bit of French
Working on putting together my next newsletter. This month's reprint is a story that's never appeared online!
