The space between ‘parts’ and ‘made in America’ needs to be recognized. I can’t speak for other designers, but I have seen Sidehack in action. He takes parts that are made in China and creates circuits that are unique to his knowledge of the mining chip he has reverse engineered and how he wants that chip or string of chips to operate. He designs circuits around USB chips, buck chips, LEDs and so on. His circuits can be adapted for successive iterations of mining chips or changes in power requirements, for example, on new projects. He researches the specs on potential new parts for every circuit that he adapts for use on a new project. All of that work is made in America. He is constantly reading, studying, testing, and prototyping and all of that is made in America. The work is so much more than sticking parts on a board.
