Thanks @ELGL50 for helping me share this essay. It is a tribute to my Mom, an exploration of how memory works, and a reflection on the life lessons that have really stuck with me through the years.
In January, Andrew Kleine lost his mother, Gail, who he memorializes as "a force, a wonderful energy: frank, fierce, and fun."

This is a wonderful article about Camp Small, which is on fire right now. A decade ago, budget, rec and parks, and the sustainability office worked together to turn tree waste into public benefit. I’m sad right now. I hope Camp Small will rise from the ashes.
