We celebrated the opening of our Engineering Design Center this week! This 24/7 makerspace, located near Main Gate Square, is available to all College of Engineering students. The 5,000 square foot space provides 3D printers, work benches, and power tools for student use.

ALT Two women and a man are standing in front of a wall of tools. The first woman, Prof. Betsy Cantwell, is wearing navy blue dress pants and matching jacket. She has on a white shirt. The second woman, Prof. Liesl Folks, is wearing black dress pants and a matching sweater. She has on a red printed blouse. The man, Dean David W. Hahn, is wearing khaki slacks, a grey suit jacket and blue shirt. They are all smiling because the center has finally opened.
ALT The picture is split in two. On the left are two women speaking. One woman has on a yellow shirt and a blue and yellow skirt. The other woman has on a dark suit. On the right is a picture of a room full of people. There are students lined up on red stools, facing a long wooden worktop. Their backs are to the camera. The rest of the room is filled with people, all facing the speaker. There is dark woodwork upon the ceiling in the distance.
ALT There are two images of equipment in the Design Center. On the left is a large yellow and black saw. It is a power tool, not a hand saw, and might be a miter saw. The other image in a white desk covered in electronic equipment for students to use.
