Fab US Nats was great! Sadly couldn’t play day 2 of Nats as the one of Hala. Had a positive CC record but punted the draft. Proceeded to top 32 the limited calling for cash so that was fun. Despite my performance I feel Hala is a strong hero. I will try to make updates to the existing metafy guides and fill in the Nats recap one. Maybe include some of my sealed experience. #fabtcg

New Metafy is up: Olympia Basics: Gold, Wager, and Golden Grail This is more of a short primer than a full deck guide. The goal is to understand Olympia before Mastery Pack Warrior and Armory Deck: Olympia change the conversation. Olympia has always had an interesting concept: win wagers, create Gold, and turn fair combat wins into future value. The issue has been that his current card pool has not always given him a clean way to turn that into a full deck identity. With Golden Grail coming, that may change. I gave an AI agent the keys to my backend and it wiped my environment variables. Not a catastrophe. All my secrets were backed up across other tools. But definitely a wake-up call. I use Netlify, Firebase, and GitHub CLI tools to expedite deployment of new apps and ideas. So naturally I added the Render CLI to help with backend management. Claude Code called PUT /env-vars to add a single variable. PUT means "replace the entire resource at this URI with exactly what I'm sending." So when the agent sent one variable, the server read that as the complete list. Everything else got wiped. PATCH is what I wanted for partial updates. The agent picked the wrong method because it didn't have enough context about what the tool actually does. The agent wasn't broken. I just handed it a loaded tool without making sure it understood the semantics of what it was calling. As we give LLMs more operational control, "it worked fine last time" stops being good enough. Build the guardrails before you need them. Because you won't know you needed them until something's already gone.
