Just in case our furnace breaks while we're on vacation, my @particle will let me monitor the house temperature, and get notifications via @IFTTT I had all the hardware from a workshop at last year's @IoTDevFest and threw together this little mounting board.

Achievement unlocked. Got my 9 year old to program. We hooked up a @seeedstudio Grove buzzer to a @particle board to play music notes. Fun hardware kits courtesy of the workshops at @IoTDevFest

Teaching my kids about GPS with hardware built with @steve_lacy at @IoTDevFest. Drove around the neighborhood with one kid, transmitting coordinates via LoRa to the other kid at home. Big kid found our secret location on Google Maps with the coordinates.
